Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions are held on computer and a doctor will have specified how many repeats may be issued before you need to be seen by a doctor for review.

Repeats may be ordered by:

  • Online
  • Post – by enclosing a stamped addressed envelope
  • In person at reception or dispensary

Paper Prescriptions can be collected from reception or with prior notice, already dispensed from the Cinderford chemist of your choice or Drybrook Chemist.

Electronic Prescriptions can be sent to a Pharmacy of your choice anywhere in the country where they offer the Electronic Prescription Service.

Find out more about the Electronic Prescription Service.

3 working days notice is required for the issue of repeat prescriptions if you collect your prescription from the practice. We recommend waiting slightly longer than this if collecting a prescription already dispensed from your pharmacy of choice.

The Dispensary

Patients living in rural areas may have their medicines dispensed from Ruardean Surgery, Cinderford Surgery or Westbury Surgery.

As a dispensing practice, our telephone opening lines are limited as our dispensers need crucial uninterrupted time for putting up medication ready for collection, errors could prove fatal.

Our receptionists are not dispensary trained and therefore do not have sufficient medication knowledge to answer queries of this nature.

Please remember you can also order repeat prescriptions online.

Cinderford Dispensary Telephone Opening Hours

The dispensary phone line for repeat prescription requests & queries will only be available during the following hours for housebound, elderly and most complex patients:

09:00 – 10:00 Monday to Friday

Westbury Dispensary Telephone Opening Hours

The dispensary phone line for repeat prescription requests & queries will only be available during the following hours for housebound, elderly and most complex patients:

11:00 – 12:00 Monday to Friday
